T'is not easy being elegantly green.

When you walk into Georgia located in New York’s Lower East Side … instantly, you escape a chaotic city street and enter into a salon that has the feel of an eclectic artist’s studio in the St. Germaine area of Paris.  Upon arriving, Kiara, greeted me cordially and guided to a comfortable chaise lounge to relax before my hair cut. While I waited (as I was a few minutes early) she served me a delightful red tea called beauty… using the proper form for tea service rules… a tray adorned with a floral patterned tea cup, saucer, spoon and a cloth napkin. Although, not a solid color to enhance the floral tea cup and saucer, the patterned napkin works with the space. I then melted into the greeliciousness (green deliciousness) of the tea and coziness of the amply cushioned chaise lounge.

Jennifer Rose, my stylist, truly listened. I am growing my hair long (hint … I do not want a lot cut off)… I watched her artfully shave off a fraction and transform a misshapen mop into a marvelous mane. She explained… ‘ your hair grows about a half inch each month so if you get a routine hair cut and have a half inch to an inch cut each time, how far are you going to get?’ Ms. Rose clearly wants to gain her clients’ trust. Might I add … she pampers you.

Adopting habits that sustain the environment a.k.a. going green goes further than saving resources and using natural products it is about caring, connecting and understanding people … show me your love.  Old world hospitality and customer service take time and caring.

In addition to the tea service and home style décor of Georgia, another highlight is having your hair washed a heart shaped haven and leaving neck-kink free as this seating is ergonomically correct.

Let’s get raw … green gal’s are all about the natural product… So what does natural hair care look like?

For starters, I can tell you I experienced the rawness at Georgia first hand. Georgia offers a delightful line of vegan hair care products called with all the … pomp and circumstance … just the bare necessities no additives…. If you want a lustrous mane look for these sumptuous ingredients Argan oil, Macadamia Nut oil and Botan oil are a few. Let your hair shine from within.
